What is Guncoin?
Guncoin (GUN) was successfully launched May 1st, 2014 as a newly developed cryptocurrency, similar to Bitcoin and Litecoin but with a big nod to gun owners, enthusiasts and sellers needs. It was developed utilizing the Litecoin platform and therefore it is mined with “Scrypt” style GPU mining. This allows almost anybody to be able to mine it. Those that are already set up for mining will have no problem mining Guncoin with their current equipment.
When Guncoin was created, it was determined that a maximum of 500 million coins can ever be mined. A portion of that (10% / 50 million) was set aside to be given as rewards for crowdfunding and IPCO contributors. The IPCO went well and now enables Guncoin to advertise more and invest in its projects at a faster rate. Some of those projects currently include:
- Android Wallet Creation
- More Server Nodes & Server Upgrades
- Media Advertising
- Web Development (ongoing)
- Paper Wallet Creation for Local Gun Shows
- Guncoin Firearms Auction
- GUN Drive for Charity
Nationwide Giveaway
We are looking for some folks in both the "firearms" and "cryptocurrency" communities who are interested in Guncoin and want to help us with a nationwide Guncoin giveaway!
The purpose of this drive is to get some Guncoin in the hands of local gun store owners all over the USA for them to give away to their customers.
Who We Are
Guncoin (GUN) is a new virtual currency that began from the love of firearms, computing and investing. That, along with extensive experience buying and selling firearms via online auctions such as gunbroker.com, prompted us to come up with a better, faster cheaper payment solution that can be easily adopted for all to use. Thus, Guncoin was born.
