The idea behind LiquidApps

The high cost and limitations of network resources on EOS make it so that it is very expensive for dApp developers to store data in the form of RAM on the EOS blockchain. The requirement of having to store both dApp smart contracts and their state information, such as the balance for each user, permanently in RAM is presenting a barrier to dApp scalability. The vRAM System proposed by LiquidApps offers a decentralized alternative memory solution.

DAPP Network

The DAPP Network is a protocol introduced into the EOS blockchain to complement it and help EOS dApps to scale. The DAPP Network is not a separate blockchain instead it is a protocol built on top of the EOS blockchain to complement it. DSPs (DAPP Service Providers) are incentivized through inflation rewards to create and offer services on the network, in the same way Block Producers get rewarded in EOS tokens. The LiquidApps team itself has built services for the DAPP Network such as vRAM, LiquidAccounts, Zeus SDK, LiquidOracles, and LiquidLink.

Summary

DAPP token

The DAPP token is a utility token and is designed to power resources for dApp developers building dApps on the EOS blockchain. dApp developers get access to the DAPP network by staking DAPP tokens to their preferred service package. 50% of the DAPP tokens will be distributed in a year-long token sale, while 10% was “Air-Hodl’d” to EOS holders. The DAPP token will have an initial supply of 1 billion tokens and has an annual inflation rate that can range between 1 and 5%.

Summary

Managing accounts for its users is very expensive for dApp developers and by using the DAPP network this can be done a lot cheaper than using RAM on the EOS blockchain. Instead of creating an account on the EOS blockchain, this can be done indirectly by creating LiquidAccounts. EOS aims to be a blockchain built for dApps but storing data directly on the EOS blockchain turned out to be expensive, LiquidApps aims to ensure that resources are used appropriately.

vRAM

vRAM

The vRAM System introduced by the LiquidApps team is a decentralized alternative memory solution for developers building EOS dApps that is RAM-compatible. The vRAM system enables EOS RAM to be what it was intended to be: a lightweight cache layer for storing in-use dApp data only. vRAM offers an alternative storage solution for developers building EOS dApps which enables storing and retrieving of potentially unlimited amounts of data.
